Friday practice has been called off ahead of the AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan, with low levels of visibility at Twin Ring Motegi.

The Friday programme was due to begin with Moto3™, but a delay had already been announced before the session started. As the morning progressed and the thick fog persisted, joined by drizzle which became a steady rain at approximately 11 o’clock, it was announced that opening practice would be cancelled for all three categories.
A revised schedule for Free Practice 2 was planned to be announced, but no track action would ultimately be possible as there was no let-up of the adverse weather. A revised agenda is now set to be announced for Saturday.
The AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan marks Round 17 of 18 in the 2013 MotoGP™ season and another title opportunity for Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez.
